Similar addon like YumeYao_MicrosoftVC789RuntimeLibraries_Addon_2_0_0.7z does not have this problem with HFSLIP. |
You are doing smth wrong then.
The pack is NOT duplicated with my file... _________________

Hey, Kels,
Is your upload completed?
I just tried DLing twice and it stopped at 51% both times.
I will wait a few hours before trying again, but I though I would let you know anyway so you can check on your end.
Thanks again for keeping this updated. _________________ "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink." |

maybe java virtual machine is way to big for how rare it is used to tighten it in this addon... if it would be a small dll ...it would be overlooked and let in
a java virtual machine, separate addon, might be a better solution
thanks Kell
I will use this addon but without ASMS directory and I '' let [KBxxxxx] entries from inside the inf file, as is... they look like simple registry entries...and I will install separate addons for vcredists... so if the reg overwrites...fine, if not then fine too don't see the inconveniency either deleting those reg entries or not... applications might think they have vcredist support whitch is true... they have it via separate addons, am I correct ? |

I just noticed that I have an outdated VC5 (msdia80.dll) file on my system which was a surprise to me because I thought the runtimes for C++ 2005 were also included in the update pack. Since your update list indicated it was only a partial list, I did not give it a second thought.
I believe this dll and other C++ 2005 files were installed by the Power Management Utility that supports my laptop. I don't know much about runtimes except that some programs will only run with a specific one. Was there a reason not to include VC5 in the pack?

VC 5,6,7 Are included in the XP disk by defualt from MS. They provide those.
I try not to overwrite to many included files in a XP disk. _________________

Ahhh okay, I wasn't aware of that because I remember having had to install C++ 2005 quite a while ago for a program that did not run without it. Since then, I always thought that this runtime had to be installed by the user.
I'm surprised the installer for my Power Management Utility wasn't able to determine the presence of the C++ 2005 runtime and installed over it leaving an insecure dll on my system.

That's a common issue for msi installers, and that's why M$ decided to revert to old style for VC2010 runtimes(in system32). _________________

Hi Kel,
Thanks for keeping this addon updated. Can I politely request you to post the update history of this pack on the first post of this thread? (like you keep for the uberpack)? |

Your decision really shocked me.
However, you should also remove these files:
| Code: |
mfc100chs.dll 10.0.30319.314
mfc100cht.dll 10.0.30319.314
mfc100deu.dll 10.0.30319.314
mfc100enu.dll 10.0.30319.314
mfc100esn.dll 10.0.30319.314
mfc100fra.dll 10.0.30319.314
mfc100ita.dll 10.0.30319.314
mfc100jpn.dll 10.0.30319.314
mfc100kor.dll 10.0.30319.314
mfc100rus.dll 10.0.30319.314
msdia100.dll 10.0.30319.331 |
They are parts of VC++ 2010 runtime.
And
| Code: | msvcr100_clr0400.dll |
It's part of .NET 4.0.
These files cannot be used separately and should come with their respective product. _________________

@= yumeyao My desicion is due to the fact of the excellent work and speedy updates or your pack.
This pack as it stands now is close to a final product. (Only if a major change is made to a dll or a new one is found.)
Updated with the suggested changes. _________________

Hello. First post, longtime lurker and user of the Runtime pack. Found some DLL updates online if they're needed.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
libpng 15.1.1
http://leaf.argyr.net/built/libpng/
(Here's the Google Translate of the page, so you can see where link to click)
DLL filename: \bin\libpng15-15.dll
...OR...
libpng 14.3.1 (from GTK+ for Windows, http://www.gtk.org/download-windows.html)
http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/gnome/binaries/win32/dependencies/libpng_1.4.3-1_win32.zip
DLL filename: \bin\libpng14-14.dll
Note: The libpng folks only distribute source, not builds, these days. The 15.1.1 build is an independent compile. It should be fine, but if the pack requires an officially supported version 14.3.1 is the one in the current stable GTK+ for Windows.
-----------------------
OpenSSL 1.0d
http://www.slproweb.com/download/Win32OpenSSL_Light-1_0_0d.exe
Note: libeay32.dll, libssl32, and ssleay32.dll can be grabbed out of the program install folder.
-----------------------
libintl 0.18.1
http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/gnome/binaries/win32/dependencies/gettext-runtime_0.18.1.1-2_win32.zip
DLL filename: \bin\intl.dll
-----------------------
libiconv 1.13.1
http://sourceforge.net/projects/mingw/files/MinGW/libiconv/libiconv-1.13.1-1/libiconv-1.13.1-1-mingw32-dll-2.tar.lzma/download
DLL filename: \bin\libiconv-2.dll
---------------------------------------------------------------------
For anyone who fancies adapting the pack for x64 Win installs it appears that these DLL's all have 64-bit builds available: AutoIt (see program website); libiconv (SourceForge MinGW-w64 page); libpng (1.4.3 only), libintl, and zlib (all via GTK+ Win x64 website); OpenSSL (OpenSSL for Windows website). |

I'm trying to rig up a DXI addon for the VB6 Common Controls, but getting the OCX's registered properly is proving to be a royal P.I.T.A. so I've got to put in a little more troubleshooting time. Not sure when I'll have something. I don't use Kels' full pack, but if I can get the Common Controls working then it's literally a matter of throwing the other DLL's into the CAB and copying/pasting the filenames from Kels' RVMI INI/INF straight over.
I'm on x64 which requires registering those VB6 OCX's in SysWOW64 instead of system32. MS doesn't follow its own rules on these 32-bit controls on folder slotting. If I get it working I'll post a beta on the Win7 forum. Then somebody with a little more dexterity should be able to adapt the DXI syntax to something more polished. You can fold both RVMI/WinXP and DXI/Win7 integrator syntax into the same INI/INF's, and also x86/x64 syntax that seamlessly redirects those quirky VB6 controls into SysWOW64 on XPx64/Win2K3x64/W7x64. Thus retrofitting Kels' pack into a single one-size-fits-all addon, at least for x86 installs and for x64 installs that slot all the 32-bit DLL's in the right place.
Since I don't use the rest of the pack I don't intend to hunt down and try every single native x64 version of the runtimes. About two-thirds of them are out there, though. Doing an addon with a mix of all available native x64 runtimes and the remaining x86-only ones should be easily doable if the file copy operation divvies them up properly into their the right system32 or SysWOW64 slottings. That's the only extra rule the installer has to obey. The rest is just testing the x64 DLL's to make sure they don't do anything problematically unorthodox vs. their x86 counterparts in the current pack. |

Perhaps completely OffTopic, but so for news about Windows 7
unfortunately there is a problem in sysprep (not a true integrator problem, but a problem with the setup of the structures it), about svcpack addon, winsxs not ready, at least for the installation of windows installer (. msi), for example crt90.msi not installed in Sysprep (maybe I can lead to damages even the winsxs file by default, perhaps after the installation, you may exercise in respect of some component problems in the system), so about the svcpack addon, needs always install via RunOnceEx, some files as crt90.msi ect ect
but about true addon mod, will have to exercise all ok, type msxml4 true addon, and inside there in onepiece post sp3 update pack ect ect
Ciao a tutti. |

FYI...I have a working Windows 7 addon for WINNT True Integrator that installs all of the VB6 Common Controls from Kels' pack: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9158
Note: Only includes the MS VB6 OCX's/DLL's, not the other third-party runtimes. |

Kels, thanks for the update.
I just checked the 7.8 archive and it is broken.
You RAR'd the addon but left the files in the 7.6 directory inside the addon.
Has to be repacked. |

Has it been repacked or did you just do it yourself?
The one I downloaded after your reply still has the 7.6 top-level directory .

Sorry, I didn't notice that that directory was even there. I only checked the files inside, which have been updated. That top directory shouldn't be there, just repack its contents.
Also, prior to my previous post, my first three downloads of 7.8 resulted in an archive completely missing the cab, which is what I meant when I confirmed user_hidden's post. _________________ "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink." |

Thanks, glad you are back in business
latest version of libssl32.dll is 1.0.0.5 , the one inside the runtime pack v7.8 is older: 0.9.8.9
happened to get this by manually installing this latest runtime pack over a prior installation of "Win32OpenSSL_Light-1_0_0e.exe"
I just extracted your runtime pack and replaced the old existing one compressing it again...is it enough for using it safelly as addon ?
I keep on survolating certain addon topics along with u_h release...expecting ATI (AMD) to release it's driver and finally make the September XP "build"
reedit:
libssl32.dll version 1.0.0.5
extracted the inno and did not see it , why ? but after installing the kit it shows up |

Hey Kel!
I know I've mentioned it before, and I know many people just use this runtime pack as it is in Win 7, but any chance of making a version of this pack specifically for Win 7? Perhaps combined with the work of RP from here - http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9158 and RP's comments from here - http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=113261#113261. I know there are many who would volunteer to help with testing for both x86 and x64 use. Your thoughts would be much appreciated.
Cheers and Regards |
