I tested it on VMware and I have some problems:
AC3 Filter CPL returns error:
    RUNDLL
An exception occured while trying to run
    "C:\WINDOWS\system32\shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL
    "C:\WINDOWS\system32\ac3filter.cpl",AC3 Filter"

DirectVobSub CPL doesn't run at all.

After running codecs.cmd from codecs2.0-size.rar both CPLs work ok.

Cheers

Great Codecpack. It covers most of my codec selections.

Also nice you included some encoders. Is it possible you add in LAME MP3 encoder?

Can you add CoreAVC 0.004 to your pack? It's freeware Main & High Profile H.264/AVC decoder with very low CPU usage. Last free version http://files.x264.nl/force.php?file=./CoreAVC20060113.7z
before become commercial:
http://coreavc.corecodec.org/.
Also I recommend Haali Media Splitter
http://haali.cs.msu.ru/mkv/
and Gabest (author of MediaPlayerClassic) external media splitters from:
http://ffdshow.faireal.net/mirror/Media%20Player%20Classic/external%20filters/unicode/
And there's a DivX codec 6.2.1 Patch 1 Beta http://labs.divx.com/archives/000068.html
Lame 3.97b2 encoder and DirectShow Filter you can download from:
http://www.rarewares.org/mp3.html
but I think that I can make a special pack for audio encoders (lossy and loosless) Wink

I would like to make a suggestion for people who remove WMP and prefer to use media player classic. After aplying this codec-pack You can watch .wmv files only in WMP 6.4. Since I copied wmidx.dll and wmasf.dll (from WMP10 setup) to system32 directory I'm able to play .wmv in media player classic as well. At least it works in my case.

Cheers

Kel, I seem to have a problem.... I have been using Swgreeds codecs since they were released and decided to try your Addon, integrating it into my otherwise tried and tested install.

I use integrator and powerpacker to make multiboot DVD's and CD's and already include Push That Freakin Button Addon Pack 1.06.4.cab, RVMAddons_1.6.2.cab, RVMAddonsTCPIP_1.1.cab and RVMAddonsWMP10_2.4.cab all previous builds worked, I added your pack and all hell broke loose, i lost all shortcuts to media player 10, although it was installed, i also could not play DVD's as I used to and all links in the accessories\Entertainment folder were gone. I'm trying a rebuild without your addon as we speak to see if the problems persist.

P.S New build and install worked Ok...???, the only difference between the bad and good install is the addition and later removal of this addon pack. Sorry for the bad news, i will try a new build again when i get chance.

Ok, I'm replying to my own post.... I tried a new build and created a multiboot pack ISO and a corp standalone ISO. the multiboot install gave me the error but the standalone did not. I'm going to create a new thread as my problem appears not to be related to this pack

I'm giving up on integrating this addon.. I've used the original versions of Swgreeds pack and always got them to work, however with the new version created by Kel i got corruption on the start menu with integrating WM10 and i stopped being able to play DVD's, asoon as i ran the codec install manually it all worked. so i'm going back to that....

Good to see that your addon offers for uninstall usining Add or Remove Programs->Add or Remove Windows Components.
(version 2.0 did , haven't checked v2.1)
I didn't actually test to see if it actually removes it or not...lol

Was that a side effect or actually meant to work as uninstall?
May seem like a dumb question , but I notice that the pinned description in this topic dosn't mention uninstall.
Guess I'll find out when test it more when I get home from work.

Any future plans of an XviD Decoder Settings cpl extension for this pack?

Cheers for the update.
Very Happy

Kel, I noticed the new build and the extra tests you did... Laughing I will create a new build but leave my production ISO's intact.. Wink
thanks for the work...
P.S. Please dont add too much to the pack, I use these because they are so lean, not like all the others you can find out there...

Re-built and reinstalled and corruption on startup is all gone but I still can't play a DVD in Media Player, says codec is not installed, when i run Swgreeds installer it all works... so, Addon appears to still give me issues, for now.!

Thank You kel for the update Smile

Are you going to update/replace
*Cyberlink DVD Decoder [version 6.0.1.1921]
with the newer v7 decoder?

swgreed has posted it at msfn. (just the decoder not the pack)

Cheers

P.S you asked what that XviD cpl was made with.
Control Panel Applet Generator v2.00.0044
makes 5~7 kb cpl quick and simple.
Neat little shareware proggie that works standalone as well.

I also had Divx CPL broken on my install... I'm not sure if it's bug in the addon, or something on my end. So I didn't bother asking. But yeah, My Divx cpl is missing or something when i click on it.

A couple questions, Mpg4c32.dll is listed in "Codecs.inf" as multiple registry entries,
but I can't find the file in the codec pack or on my computer. Where can one obtain this file?

Next, * VobSub [1.0.1.3] + CPL. I have the control panel file, DirectVobSub.cpl, but thats it.
Can anyone tell me where I can get the program to go with the control panel ?

Also had to delete & remove all entries in the .inf for the following files, qasf.dll, wmadmod.dll, wmasf.dll, wmsdmod.dll, wmspdmod.dll, wmvdmod.dll, Ryan's WMP10 Pack installs newer versions & if you have SFC off this Codec Pack will write/replace them with older versions.

Follow up, hunt for file Mpg4c32.dll, it was found in another codec pack. VobSub [1.0.1.3] + CPL
(DirectVobSub.cpl/Gabest) & AC3 Filter, I had some codec files (VSFilter.dll & ac3filter.ax) that
were not being registered. At this time I don't know why. If no one else reports back with problems
like this, it must be just an isolated to my computer. Anyway after registering them, the programs
are now working.

I placed this question on SWGreed's site, he replied, quote;

"- the Mpg4c32.dll entries are obsolete and will be removed on the next release (I overlooked them somehow)."

Now cleared up that answer.

Thanks Kel, nice work as always.

I like this addon, it's cleanly done. Good solutions when converted from advanced inf..

Is there any need to Upgrade this to 2.5? I see there is now a 2.5 switchless installer version at msfn.

To, Sir Kel,
Is it possible to add codecs and plugins required for Real Media and QuickTime in your next update of this Codec Pack

Instead of ripping the actual codecs, you can maybe do 'Real Alternative' or 'QuickTime Alternative'. Much nicer than the original bloated programs.
