|
|
What's New
Version 2.1.7- Added KB918118 Hotfix.
- Added KB918997 Hotfix.
- Added KB924667 Hotfix.
- Added KB925623 Hotfix. Replaces KB916189 Hotfix.
- Added KB926436 Hotfix.
- Added KB927779 Hotfix.
- Added KB927802 Hotfix.
- Added KB927880 Hotfix. Replaces KB904942 Hotfix.
- Added KB928090 Hotfix. Replaces KB925454 Hotfix.
- Added KB928255 Hotfix. Replaces KB929548 Hotfix.
- Added KB928843 Hotfix. Replaces KB922616 Hotfix.
- Added KB931125 Hotfix.
- Added KB931836 Hotfix. Replaces KB928388 and KB929120 Hotfixes.
- Updated Malicious Software Removal Tool to version 1.26.
For the love of God, read the nLite or Integrator directions for how to properly integrate this pack.
Notes- nLite 1.3RC2 or RyanVM Integrator 1.4.3 is required to properly integrate this release.
- If you used nLite to integrate the pack and are having problems, PLEASE read this thread before reporting problems.
Download Here
Or From My BitTorrent Tracker
Known Issues- High Definition Audio isn't working right for some people. As a workaround, replace the two hdaudio INFs with the ones from the September Update Pack (or directly extracted from KB888111).
- Yes, setuperr.log whines about plugin.ocx being missing. This is completely intended behavior and is nothing to worry about. I'll update the FAQ with a more detailed explanation later.
If you do run into anything you think is an error, be sure to consult with the FAQ on my site before asking about it here. _________________ Get up to $200 off on hosting from the same people who host this website!

not to mention the tons of little free ware-tools u all guys introduce here - even i am not integrating them into me setup-dvd but they are mostly great little helpers

Thanks Ryan!
Just a minor note: on the update pack screen with the checksum, it still has the date of the update pack as January 16 instead of February 16. Just cosmetic!
Checksum figure is correct and verified...! (This was important, thanks!)

I have been low on funds lately, but that did not stop me from sending a small contribution to Ryan recently for his efforts. I think any amount, no matter how small, speaks very loudly about how grateful we are. Why not send him a little PayPal payment, if you find his Update Pack useful to you? |

I cannot download the update pack, anyone else has the same problem?
Can I apply this update on another version say 2.1.6? Or does it need to be a clean Windows XP + Sp2?
Thanx |

Yee Haw! Thanks Ryan. Downloading now.
Can't wait to install this on my primary box.
Torrent tracker is smoking fast (250k/s).
Will report back tomorrow after testing. |

Thanks for quick update Ryan.
By the way, did anyone experience any problem with kb924667? I used nlite and it appears on WU. |

It may not be handling the SxS DLLs properly when it integrates. I'm betting if you let nuhi know in the nLite forums, he'll take care of it _________________ Get up to $200 off on hosting from the same people who host this website!

I would like to mention that after installation , i try to install MS SQL Server Management Studio Express edition but it's crying that MSXML 6 needs to be installed first but ryan update pack includes that. Id someone could try that and see if they would get the same thing. I use the full msi installer not the web installer _________________

You can overwrite the 2.1.6 with 2.1.7 but I prefer to go the safer way and make another build from a fresh CD. It might save me some troubles if something goes wrong |

It's because they check a different registry key to see if it's installed. It's on my todo list to track down which key it is once and for all to appease those installers, but I just haven't done so yet. | just_laze wrote: | Hello,

laze. | Quite frankly, I've only ever heard reports from one person who was having issues, and they said after the last release that things were working OK for them now. | just_laze wrote: | Hey,

If you can narrow down which fix caused it, you can try reporting the issue to MS. _________________ Get up to $200 off on hosting from the same people who host this website!

Your results appear to be easily within the natural variations caused by time-of-day, day-of week, congestion on your node, etc. |

I tried update pack, did a clean install, but this time when installing Geforce (WHQL) driver system face windows file protection error, and the same when I connect my usb pen drive.
Though everything is running quite fine, after these. |

Your problem doesn't lie directly with my pack - it lies with something else you're doing in addition to it. _________________ Get up to $200 off on hosting from the same people who host this website!

Ryan,
Can you take a look on this:
--> Added KB925623 Hotfix. Replaces KB916189 Hotfix.
But on Microsoft site:

@ Neo - Matrix:
Check the page for KB916189. You will see this:
File name: Rpcrt4.dll
File version: 5.1.2600.2863
As KB925623 has a newer version of rpcrt4.dll, it overwrites the KB916189 one. |
