Microsoft have discontinued Office Update, to obtain office updates you now have to use Microsoft Update which makes this addon obsolete and so I have retired it.

Office Update Engine v12.0.5606.1000 and Office Genuine Advantage v2.0.48.0 must be installed before being able to check for office updates.

how does this work in terms of the whole microsoft update vs windows update thing?

is this needed if we go to microsoft update (as ryan's pack allows)?

This is needed if you use the Office Update website.
If you update office though Microsoft Update you do not need this addon Wink

Are you planning to post more useful activex controls such as the Windows update V4 (Windows Update Catalog)? I recently posted a message asking that How i can make this, but I did not receive any answer! Please take some time for making it, or let me know how i can make that.

new Microsoft Office Update Detection Engine dll is out. version: 12.0.4115.1000
found here: http://officebeta.iponet.net/officeupdate/content/opuc3.cab
i installed office 2007 beta2, and tries office update. then it took me to new "beta" site. that was looking like new office. and is really nice.

Ye that`s the beta dll, it don`t work for office 2003/XP (at least not for me) and the current office link hasn`t been updated. So i guess it isn`t safe to replace this yet.

I`ll make a beta addon for this though. Check first post.

Unfortunatly no, but if you don`t use an admin install point to install office 2k3 you could use MU to check for updates to office 2k3 and office update to check for office 2007 updates Wink

If MU checks for 2007 updates yes, i`m not sure that it does. You`ll have to try it yourself.

Hi

I'm just about to update my german Pack with dlls for MSUpdate and Office update.
So I just found this OGAControl.cab
with OGACheckControl.DLL in it.
Can anybody tell me if this is needed for 2k3? I just only have 2007 installed...

Or is this just another silly ms crap Shocked

To be honest i couldn`t say for sure cuz i`ve not installed O2007 for a while.

Will be downloading the refresh this weekend though so will get back to you then if knowone else does.

Don`t know what OGAControl.cab is for, the current beta dll works fine.

The refresh is huge but performance is good and liking the auto hide bar.

Hey xable, can you update your addon with the one found here: opuc4.cab
It seems they will use the same dll for all office versions. You can just provide this one Wink

My setup interrupts with the error of not being able to copy opuc.dll

Looks like it has a bad checksum.

Been out for a while has it? Well you must tell me because as it happens I stopped using office update a while ago.. now I use microsoft update for office also.

So if OUE/OGA is updated you have to tell me because if I don`t know it won`t get updated Wink

I'm having the same opuc.dll problems as the previous poster on your xable.net forum described - and this was AFTER you updated your addon to fix microsoft's issue.

I'd post this on your own forum but I reset my pw and it takes 30min to get a activation email, requested a bunch of times so I have to wait till the last one gets mailed :\

Microsoft`s issue is fixed again fragbert.

I also replied to your email about you haveing trouble reseting your password ages ago, so I think your mail provider must be delaying your emails. When I tested it out the password reset mails were being sent straight away to me. :\
