If you need to add some reg tweaks in IE8 you must manually modify before integration the entries.ini file inside the addon

- International True/Svcpack/RoE Addon Maker: (for Windows XP and Server 2003, in every language)

If you prefer to create your own addon in every language you like, you can use this tool. You must place only IE installer and the needed hotfixes in your own language in a temp folder. Then run the Addon Creator, enter the path of your folder and wait a few seconds/minutes (depends on your system) for the completion popup. 7-zip the resulting files.

Onepiece's addons allows you to decide if keeping or not IE Desktop Icon:

Both solutions work with Nlite 1.4.9.1 or RVM 1.6.1.
IE8 addon is not needed if you integrate Onepiece's XP post-SP3 AIO Update Pack in your XP source because it's already included

IE8 integration esthetic side effects (not Addon bugs):
* setuperr.log will point out harmless error messages about some IE files like imgutil.dll, inetcpl.cpl, inseng.dll, mshtml.dll, msrating.dll, pngfilt.dll, occache.dll, webcheck.dll (caused by the patched Syssetup.dll used for integration and then restored with the original one). If you don't tolerate it you can integrate in addition Onepiece Repair IE8 cosmetic problems addon (Hash MD5 5C7AF8CA9F637C993F4AEEFFB63F39ED - Filesize: 1.28 Kb - updated 2008-03-27) which cleans the false errors. Please note that in some rare configurations the integration of this "repair" addon could cause issues, so we don't suggest to use it.

im sorry to say that i find that ure internet addon (both ie7 and 8)naming schemes are very hard to understand.

RVMi Plugin and Addon Creator works with both XP e 2003.

IE8 true addon is out: please use it carefully because all the tests result OK but it has been rebuilded from zero.

Onepiece decided to keep iedw.exe file even if it seems no more needed by IE8: if someone wants to test its removal, these entries.ini lines must be modified as follows:

Hello,

Thanks for the TrueAddon Maker of IE8.
But it doesnt seem to work on my Dutch file.. Exactly the same as with the IE7 TrueAddon maker.

I have made a folder called "IE8" on my D partition.
In the folder i put:
- IE8-WindowsXP-x86-NLD.exe
- IE8-WindowsXP-KB968220-x86-NLD.exe
- RUN_Automatic_OnePiece_IE8_XP_Own_AddOn_Creator.INTL.exe

Then i double click the RUN_Automatic.
I have to locate the IE8-WindowsXP-x86-NLD.exe.
Since this file is in my IE8 folder, i browse to D:\IE8.
A few things are being extracted.
After that the same box popups again, tells me to locate the original installer again.
So i do that.
Then i get this:

Suddenly there is folder called "IE8-WindowsXP-x86-NLD". And after some seconds it just dissapears again.

Then the box pops up again.

Also when i dont locate the folder the second time, it doesnt work either, it just crashes or something?

edit:
I tried again (10th time), and i jsut pushed cancel when the third box popped up.
Now i got a file called "OnePiece_IE8_WinXPSP3_AddOn_NLD.7z" of around 11MB.

BUT,
In the ENU installer there is a SVCPACK folder inside the addon, and with my NLD there isnt one.

So i dont know.. It doesnt add the update.

Retry placing only IE8 setup file and the hotfix inside a temp folder. Then run the Addon Maker giving the temp folder path.

I've downloaded both needed IE-files directly from microsoft-site.

When im doing the RUN_Automatic_OnePiece_IE8_XP_Own_AddOn_Creator.INTL.exe

When it starts, after sometime it comes up with My malwarebytes that claims that 7z.exe c:\windows\system32 is Infected with a Trojan.Agent.

It might be false, i just wanted to warn the author and the others guys here around Razz

I still get a occache.dll error in the setuperr.log. I use rvm integrator v.1.6.1Beta1 to integrate XP SP3 + redii update pack v. 03.09-01 + IE8 true addon v, 1.0.1 + IE8 cosmetic addon.

When I use the cosemtic addon, I get an Advanced Inf Install popup at first boot saying I need to reboot to finish installing. There is also a small box in the upper left corner of screen saying its installing personal settings for IE8 or words to that effect.

This is ONLY with the cosmetic addon, otherwise its fine.

Am I alone with this problem?

Edit: I also notice that the reg entries are such that KB968220 is NOT showing up when I run qfecheck, though MU/WU is fine with it.

@SHO_GuN: have you used newer IE8 RCP addon?

@Kees030, Wazer, ccl0: It's a known false positive of a few AV, caused by Quick Batch File Compiler. Try on www.virustotal.com
